Forest therapy is a guided immersion in natural environments that promotes the well-being of people and the land. Research shows these numerous therapeutic benefits:

THINGS TO BRING
If you do not have a kayak, they can be rented at Lake MacBride Boat Rental (319-624-2315). You are kindly tasked with renting and paying for a single ($34) or double ($44) kayak for the two hour session.
In addition to a kayak, please bring these items:
- Water bottle
- Shoes and clothes that can get wet
- Life jacket if you are bringing your own kayak
- Insect repellent
- Anything else that might help you feel comfortable being outdoors
REGISTRATION
Sliding scale fee: $25 - $5, based upon your access to resources.
Backyard Abundance members receive a 10% discount. Learn about Backyard Abundance membership.
Please rent a kayak ahead of time if you do not have access to one. (See the rental info above.)

Emelia Sautter is a certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide. She is the foundress of Good Medicine, Nature and Forest Therapy Practice in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

We meet at the Lake MacBride Boat Rental Facility at Lake MacBride Beach.

COVID-19
The event is held outside. Masks are optional. We will try to maintain 6' distancing.

This fee is for people with expendable income. This option allows you to assist others in attending our classes by “paying it forward” for those who have less access to opportunities.
